Well it's now May and that can only mean one thing - the Eurovision Song Contest isn't far away. It's now less than two weeks before entrants from across Europe descend on the Azerbaijani capital Baku to take part in the first of the semi finals in this year's competition. Each semi final consists of 18 performances, with just ten performers from each making it through to the 2012 Grand Final on Saturday May 26, where the 'big five' of the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy, along with the host nation Azerbaijan, will be waiting for them. Here at auspOp, we're continuing our daily look at each of the competitors' songs in the lead-up to Eurovision 2012.
TOOJI : Stay
As a model and TV presenter, Norwegian Eurovision entrant Tooji certainly looks the part, but will the 24 year old have enough in the musical kitty to cut it as part of the second semi-final at this year's Eurovision Contest?
It's already a hit in Norway, peaking at No.2 on their music charts, so with a groundswell of home country support behind him, he'll feel right at home in the Azerbaijani capital.
The track is a mainstream electro dance track with a few middle eastern spices thrown in that wouldn't sound out of place on our commercial radio networks' current playlists. There's plenty of dancing on offer in the high energy routine too and we don't think this will have too much of a problem making it through to the final on May 26.
