COUNTDOWN TO EUROVISION : Bosnia & Herzegovina

Where in the world is the time going? We're now just a week and a half out from the start of the biggest music competition in the world. Yes, it's now just ten sleeps before entrants from all across Europe descend on the Azerbaijani capital Baku to take part in the first of the semi finals in this year's competition. Each semi final consists of 18 performances, with just ten performers from each making it through to the 2012 Grand Final on Saturday May 26, where the 'big five' of the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy, along with the host nation Azerbaijan, will be waiting for them. Here at auspOp, we're continuing our daily look at each of the competitors' songs in the lead-up to Eurovision 2012.

MAYASAR : Korake Ti Znam

The Bosnian entry is one of very few in this year's competition that will be performed in the country's own language, so for that we ought to give them props.
30 year old MayaSar is no stranger to the contest either, having performed backing vocals for the Bosnia and Herzegovina entry in both 2004 and 2011. This time, however, she's up front and solo performing the number 'Korake Ti Znam' (translated into English as 'I Know Your Steps').
And it looks set to provide a point of difference between all the electro/pop, dance and rock songs this year, stripping things right back down to what's essentially a sweet piano-based ballad with MayaSar's lovely, soft vocals. Given Bosnia & Herzegovina is the penultimate performer in the second semi final, there may be some strong voting for this, especially from neighbouring countries like Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia.
